Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Field Team in Ely as a Lead Team Member. In East Anglia, we want to create a diverse workplace where people are respected, valued, and listened to. As a Lead Team Member, you'll be maintaining our river and flood defence assets and responding to flood and pollution incidents.
This hands-on role involves:
1. Leading and working together with a team in all weather conditions.
2. Coaching and mentoring Team Members and colleagues.
3. Using various tools and equipment for tasks.
4. Providing responses to flood and environmental incidents.
5. Carrying out regular checks and inspections of equipment.
6. Communicating professionally with partners and the public.
You'll participate in our 24-hour call-out rosters, responding with your team to operate assets, playing an active role in protecting homes and businesses from flood risk.
Experience/Skills Required
Essential:
1. The desire to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
2. Experience with plant and machinery and practical skills.
3. An environmental awareness.
4. Experience in asset operation or maintenance.
5. An understanding of site health and safety requirements.
6. Basic understanding of IT, including smartphones and tablets.
7. Full driving licence.
8. Live within 45 minutes' drive of your local depot.
Helpful but not essential:
1. People management or leadership skills.
2. Previous field experience.
