An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Court of Protection Paralegal/Caseworker to join our client's growing legal practice.
A well-established firm of solicitors with a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and quality of service, at the heart of their community who recognize that people are their greatest asset, and strive continuously to develop staff and support their career progression.
The successful applicant would be expected to manage their own caseload, including some complex and sensitive matters, in a warm and confident manner and may be required to attend Magistrates courts to support solicitors and their clients.
You will work closely with the lead Solicitor to grow and further develop the Court of Protection/Mental Health team; there is also opportunity for further career development.
Skills and Experience
* At least 1 year’s experience in Court of Protection.
* Knowledge of the Legal Aid system.
* Excellent time management and attention to detail.
* Ability to build strong client relationships and to empathize with clients at all levels.
* Motivation to learn and self-develop.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft packages and Case Management Systems.
Duties
* Producing Legal Documents: create and format legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, and court forms.
* Providing Secretarial Support: assist solicitors by managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks.
* Answering Calls and Taking Messages: handle phone calls, transfer calls, and ensure accurate message-taking.
* Maintaining Records: keep meticulous records of meetings, appointments, and case-related information.
* Organising Travel and Meetings: arrange travel for solicitors and manage their diaries, including setting up meetings.
* Opportunity for a Junior to learn and develop their legal skills.
* Training provided and the opportunity to develop in other areas of law.
