What is the job role?
We have an opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work as a cover supervisor from January 2025. You will be working under the direction and supervision of teaching or senior staff to lead planned learning with individuals, groups or classes of pupils, in the absence of a Teaching Assistant or Teacher.
The successful candidate will be a member of a strong team of teachers and support staff.

Who are we looking for?
You will be a passionate HLTA with experience working across the primary age range, committed to providing an exciting and inspiring curriculum for all pupils.
Candidates should have:
* Level 3 qualification in relevant subject area (e.g. supporting teaching and learning in schools, diploma in childcare and education, T-level in education and childcare) or externally assessed HLTA status
* Nationally recognised qualifications at level 2 or above in English/literacy and Maths/numeracy (e.g. GCSE grade 4-9 or equivalent)
* Experience in assisting pupils in their learning across the primary age range
* Substantial experience working as a teaching assistant in a school
* Experience working with pupils with additional educational needs
* A sound working knowledge and understanding of the HLTA standards
* High expectations of children and young people with a commitment to helping them fulfil their potential
* Positive behaviour management strategies and demonstrate a compassionate and restorative approach to dealing with behaviours
* The ability to establish fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with children, young people and their parents
* Experience in planning and delivering challenging, engaging and enjoyable learning activities
* A dedication to actively contribute to school life and the wider community
* A sense of humour, a positive outlook and a kind heart
* A commitment to your professional learning which is supported by a dedicated leadership team
