Pilgrims Hospices has an excellent opportunity suited to an experienced HR Advisor looking for their next step as a Senior HR Advisor. This part-time role (28 hours pw) would offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their HR practice across a broad range of professional areas.
The Role
As a member of the HR function, the Senior HR Advisor will support the Head of HR & Education in delivering a high quality, effective and efficient HR service, including:
* Working in collaboration with key internal ‘client groups’ to support the delivery of our income generation, central services and operational activities.
* Attending key management meetings within their dedicated client area(s).
* Supporting activity within the client area to embed organisational initiatives and communications.
* Development of client area specific policy and process(es).
* HR Business Partnering.
* Developing skills and capacity of managers to empower them to manage people issues effectively and independently and in line with Pilgrims CODE.
* Responsible for the operational oversight and development of our recruitment activities and adapting practice for the evolving marketplace.
* Employee Relations.
* With guidance from the Volunteering Advisor, the post holder will support managers to develop volunteering opportunities within their teams and ensure volunteers remain integrated within a single workforce.
* Systems & Processes (est. at 1 day per week). The post holder is responsible for the HR information system (currently ‘ciphr’).
Flexibility
The post holder is expected to work flexibly to be able to meet the challenges and opportunities of working within Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent.
Working Arrangements
This is a permanent, part-time position (28 hours per week) and is based at Pilgrims Hospice Canterbury, although it is a role that will operate across our hospice and retail sites in East Kent when required, and some hybrid working is possible. You will be provided with on-site parking and subsidised meals during your work day.
About You
To be successful in this role you should have:
* Experience of being responsible for day-to-day HR policy and practices across a large team(s).
* Extensive experience of different Employee Relations issues in the workplace, with the ability to manage difficult conversations and complicated processes.
* Experience of coaching others and facilitating basic HR training sessions with staff.
* Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
* A full clean driving license, with a willingness to provide support to other locations and access to your own transport.
* HR systems and payroll experience.
