The Global Security Organization provides industry-leading cyber-security and business protection services to TikTok globally. In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office for 2 to 3 days a week, as directed by their manager.
As a Senior Incident Response Analyst, you will be a member of TikTok's enterprise Threat Detection and Response team. The Threat Detection and Response team is responsible for 24x7 monitoring of multiple security-related information sources to manage incidents related to cyber, privacy, and data protection for TikTok data, infrastructure, and products. The Threat Detection and Response team will regularly survey the TikTok networks for signs of a breach, malware, or unauthorized access. Additionally, the Threat Detection and Response team is responsible for developing and maintaining incident response plans, playbooks and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. You will often perform the duties of an Incident Commander. Constant participation and situational leadership in incident response activities.
2. Triage security alarms and conduct technical analysis and assessments of security-related incidents, including malware analysis, packet-level analysis, and system-level forensic analysis.
3. Conduct analysis of network traffic and output from various network-centric technologies.
4. Identify major threats that target TikTok users or impact company infrastructure.
5. Develop incident response plans and procedures, including identification, remediation, containment, and eradication procedures.
6. Provide input to cross-functional teams to ensure that log sources meet analyst needs and that sensors and collection devices are placed strategically throughout the environment.
7. Identify any gaps in our security or monitoring coverage and work with the appropriate teams to close these gaps.
8. Work with crisis management to enable crisis procedures and execute when necessary.
9. Gather and condense technical details of critical incidents to executive management and provide immediate containment and eradication recommendations.
10. Support the onboarding of new products, data, processes, or tools by identifying requirements and by integrating them into current operational processes.
11. Mentor and guide other Threat Detection and Response analysts to grow their incident response analysis skills.
12. Ability to think outside-the-box and embrace non-standard, internally developed, tooling and data analysis tools.
13. This position is part of a 24x7x365 operation and may require shift and/or on-call work.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
1. Security and/or admin experience with UNIX/Linux and MacOS.
2. Experience with identifying and responding to advanced threats and threat actor TTPs/behaviors.
3. Work well under pressure and within constraints to solve problems and meet objectives.
4. Knowledge of industry-standard frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK) and how to apply them.
5. Ability to work well in an ambiguous, complex, and development-focused environment.
6. Experience with web application security.
7. 5 years experience as a cyber security analyst/incident response analyst capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelors' Degree or industry equivalent work experience in either Computer Science, Information Security, or Cyber Security.
2. 5 years of directly related experience in computer security and incident handling.
3. Industry standard certifications based on incident response and continuous monitoring (i.e. GEIR, GCIH, GREM, CASP).
4. One or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Java, Python, etc.).
5. Experience writing and executing SQL queries.
6. Experience in performing or overseeing static and malware analysis.
7. Experience in performing digital forensics for incident response.
8. Strong UNIX/Linux operating system administration skills including conceptual knowledge of OS internals and experience with core service types.
9. Experience in Windows environments.
