General Foreman - Major Highways Project - Hampshire

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced General Foreman to join a major highways project in Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading civil engineering contractor on a high-profile infrastructure scheme. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
·Supervise and coordinate site activities, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and in line with project specifications.
·Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across the site.
·Lead and motivate site teams, including subcontractors and direct workforce.
·Work closely with the Site Engineer, Project Manager, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
·Monitor progress, resolve any on-site issues, and implement corrective actions as required.
·Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
·Ensure materials, plant, and resources are efficiently allocated and managed.
·Maintain accurate site records, reports, and daily diaries.
Requirements
·Proven experience as a General Foreman on major highways or large-scale civil engineering projects.
·Strong understanding of highways construction, drainage, earthworks, structures, and surfacing.
·Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
·Good knowledge of CDM regulations, health & safety procedures, and RAMS.
·Valid SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
·CSCS card (Gold or Black).
·Full UK driving licence.
