Joining a large-scale business, this role will join an established procurement division focussed on Sustainable Procurement to reflect changes to government policy such as the launch of the Social Value Act and Modern Slavery Act which are now contractually with prime contractors across the business and to ensure flowed down through Supply Chain.

Location - Hertfordshire (hybrid working)
Type - Permanent position
Salary - £40,000 - £50,000 (potentially flexibility around salary DOE) + bonus + benefits
Key responsibilities of the Buyer - Sustainability / Senior Buyer - Sustainability / Procurement Officer - Sustainability role and not be limited to:
Embedding sustainable procurement into all aspect of how the business manages there procurement lifecycle and to ensure collaboration with Supply Chain, Partners and Suppliers to improve ESG impacts.
The main purpose of the role will require to develop, skills across ESG topics, but with particular focus on Environment, in order to lead initiatives with supply chain partners to reduce emissions targets. This will include having ownership of the systems used to assess the ESG risks in the supply chain and how our suppliers are performing.
Understanding the Strategic aims of Sustainable Procurement, and the different lines of business unit and to contribute to identifying priorities areas which address the challenges faced.
