About the role
Boots Opticians are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst - Financial Planning and Analysis reporting into the Finance Manager - Financial Planning and Strategy.
The FP&A function is responsible for telling the overall performance story for the business to the Opticians Leadership team, wider WBA Group and our external shareholders. As such within this role, you'll develop a wide understanding of the Boots Opticians organisation and be at heart of interpreting performance.
In addition, the FP&A function manages the annual budget and 3 year plan process and monthly forecast activities, in which you'll play a key role and potential to lead an organisational wide planning process.
In this role you will:
1. Support business, Group and shareholder performance reporting and supplementary analysis
2. Assist with the monthly and quarterly commentary, engaging with an internal business audience to create a trading narrative
3. Assist with the co-ordination and collation of all central planning processes (forecasting and budgeting activities and 3 Year plan) working with the wider finance team and with stakeholders across business areas and the wider group function.
4. Develop Group CSR reporting
5. Produce Group reports using COGNOS - Planning Analytics
6. Ad hoc support to Finance Manager, Senior Finance Managers and Finance Director
7. Drive process efficiency across all month end reporting tasks through automation and simplification
What you'll need to have:
1. Newly qualified or Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA etc.) accountant
2. Good communicator who enjoys building new relationships with a variety of financial and non-financial stakeholders
3. Ability to manage workload and respond to urgent requests and deliver to tight deadlines
4. Focus on attention to detail and desire to produce accurate work
It would be great if you also have:
1. Previous FP&A experience desirable
2. Experience using Cognos Planning Analytics (PA) as this is the primary tool for all financial planning and reporting.
3. Experience of Power BI desirable
