Position Overview:
As the demand for our services grows, we are looking to expand our team of Support Workers who want to work with vulnerable young people or adults.
Responsibilities:
* Provide emotional and practical support to children and adults in care.
* Promote independence and assist with daily activities such as preparation of food, encouraging personal hygiene, and engaging in activities like bowling, gaming, and going to the cinema.
* Encourage and support the development of life skills and independence.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, colleagues, and other professionals.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports.
* Provide social and emotional support to adults.
* Support residents with their personal care needs.
* Build and maintain relationships with friends and family of our residents.
* Perform household tasks including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
* Engage in outings and activities that supported individuals may want to experience.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or adults in care or in a similar setting.
* Understanding of child development and the impact of trauma on children.
* Ability to communicate effectively with children and young people.
* Willingness to travel to various children's homes.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Ideally, you will have experience supporting adults either at home or in a care home.
* Calm, caring individual with a positive outlook.
* Empathy, caring, and sensitivity to the needs of others.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Computer literate.
* Car driver desirable but not essential.
