Umbrella pay rate: £25-£40 per hour dependent on experience.
We are seeking a Services Engineer (Electrical) to join our Building Services Team. This role involves working on electrical services response maintenance and electrical engineering elements of planned programmes and capital works. The successful candidate will lead and direct multi-disciplinary design teams from feasibility to completion, ensuring all projects adhere to internal standards and legislative requirements.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
1. Carry out electrical services response maintenance work and contribute to electrical engineering projects as directed.
2. Lead and direct multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver capital projects effectively.
3. Conduct and commission condition surveys, support services, and provide client support as per Service Level Agreements.
4. Prepare specifications, tender documentation, and contract drawings for electrical engineering works using computer-aided design packages.
5. Manage project phases from planning applications to on-site inspections and final completion.
6. Liaise with various stakeholders including council officers, school heads, building managers, and external contractors to ensure smooth execution of projects.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and perform risk assessments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in a similar role within a non-housing public or commercial sector, such as schools, offices, or community centres.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD, NBS, NES, and other relevant computer-based programs.
3. Strong project management skills, able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering, maintenance design, and decarbonisation practices.
5. Excellent communication skills, capable of producing clear reports and effectively dealing with clients and contractors.
6. Relevant qualifications such as ONC/OND, HNC/HND in Building Services, or working towards Chartered Membership of CIBSE.
7. Awareness of current construction industry-related health and safety legislation.
