Main duties of the job
To attain a registered midwifery qualification.
1. To communicate effectively with women and their families and provide a high standard of Midwifery care throughout preconception, antenatal, intra-partum and postnatal periods under the supervision of the Registered Midwife/Mentor.
2. To diagnose pregnancy, assess and monitor women holistically throughout the preconception, antenatal, intra-partum and postnatal stages through the use of a range of assessment methods and reach valid, reliable and comprehensive conclusions under the supervision of the Registered Midwife/Mentor.
3. To work towards achieving the midwifery standards of proficiency agree with the HEI provider and set out in the Midwifery Practice Assessment Document
4. To work towards achieving experience under supervision of the activities of the midwife as outlined in the European Union Midwives Directive (80/155/EEC Article 4.
