We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.
About your team:
At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it.
We’re the household heroes powering 1 in 3 homes in the UK – but supplying energy is just part of what we do. We’re making the UK’s homes greener and more energy efficient, together with our friends at Hive. By using their clever tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers, we’re making it cheaper and easier to reduce your home’s carbon-footprint. And with our Peak Save programme, we’re actively rewarding better energy use too.
We have a great opportunity for a Heat Pump System Design Manager to join our busy team.
About the Role:
* Provide guidance and structure to the team of system design engineers.
* Ensure the performance of the design team is of the highest standard.
* Hold regular meetings to ensure expectations of the team are met and manage resources to ensure the workload has the capability to be exceeded.
* Act as the conduit between survey, design, and installation.
* Be the qualified person ‘signing off’ each customer design solution.
* Work with key stakeholders across the business such as sales and Business Delivery Managers to ensure the requirements of the Design team and installation teams are met.
* Engage with the Performance Support team to leverage coaching and other support needs to optimise customer delivery and engineer efficiency.
* Utilise the National Technical Support Team to enhance engineer technical skills and deliver superior customer service.
What we're looking for:
* Qualifications in System design such as Heat Geek Heating Mastery.
* Experience with heat pump system design is essential.
* Understanding of hydronics and heat pump system performance.
* Ensuring compliance standards and planning regulations are adhered to and embedded in the team.
* Experience in managing a team and coaching others.
* Stakeholder management of a wide range of stakeholders often in time-pressured situations.
* Ability to lead, communicate, motivate, and engage people to deliver their individual and team objectives.
* Aware of the commercial aims and objectives of British Gas and Centrica.
* Skilful in problem-solving to achieve short-term goals and establishing longer-term approaches to avoid repeat failure demand.
