About the Team:
The Global Monetization Integrity (MI) team is responsible for ensuring that all monetized content on TikTok is safe, ethical, and high quality through the creation of innovative, scalable solutions designed to ensure TikTok users and businesses are protected. By proactively monitoring and analyzing user trust, media trust, and regulatory/government trust, we want to stay ahead of emerging trust issues, identify areas of concern, and implement targeted strategies across Policy, Product, Process & Comms to rebuild and/or maintain public trust in integrity and advertising offerings.
Monetization Integrity is composed of Policy, Operations, Risk, and Data specialists working cross-functionally with key stakeholders (Legal, GR, PR, Engineering, Product, Sales, etc) to design and optimize advertising policies, manage moderation processes, and iterate risk controls and systems driving efficiencies. The MI User Harm Issue Policy Team serves these teams by addressing key User Harm risk concerns at a platform, product, process, and policy level. Identifying risks along these four key pillars, we will seek to provide insights, increase efficiency, improve risk governance, and expand co-governance collaboration in collaboration with key MI policy and risk stakeholders and with cross-functional teams. Risk managers within this MI User Harm Issue Policy Team will support this mission by providing subject matter expertise and project management leadership in order to build long-term strategy and respond to emergent incidents posing a risk to TikTok's business at a regional and global level.
What you will do:
This team will lead MI policy risk and integrity wide efforts to develop a platform-holistic User Harm risk strategy with objectives aligned at the TikTok level, and in line with current and future regulatory trends. As such, this team will serve as the subject matter experts on User Harm risk to TikTok's advertising business both internally and externally. Policy Managers within this team will require excellent problem-solving skills, a high understanding of risks associated with user harm content, an enthusiasm for identifying and managing remedies for gaps in existing risk control mechanisms from conception to completion. The ideal candidate has experience in analysis of future and existing risk areas, can thrive in ambiguous environments, identify trade-offs, prioritize key tasks, and execute decisions with limited information in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities:
- Own global strategies for risk control across policy, process, and platform risks, including identifying and managing project risks and issues, including preparing and implementing risk mitigation and issue resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with local and global operations teams, consisting of internal and external personnel, to ensure project success, including communicating regularly with stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress, risks, and issues.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure that change requests are appropriately initiated, reviewed, and approved.
- Build and implement processes and structures to increase efficiency and scalability of risk controls in the User Harm space.
- Provide consultation to Integrity leadership on related subjects, including User Harm risk trends, User Harm risk control gaps, and emergent threats.
- Spearhead end-to-end Policy Development, Policy Enforcement, and Escalation Management for emerging Policy issues such as Youth Safety, Adult & Nudity, Sexual Exposure, Body Image, User Privacy, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required in public policy, business administration, political science, or another related field.
- 4+ years in digital advertising, risk prevention and identification, or analysis.
- Experience in developing project plans, roadmaps, and ability to lead and manage internal and external project teams.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to policy development and implementation, especially prior experience of regulatory audit.
- Understanding of the dynamics between users, advertisers, and advertising policies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate, foster relationships and work cross-functionally, especially with diverse global teams in numerous time zones.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to drive consensus building and decision making for senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing policies for harmful content within online communities attaining shared understanding of how online abuse may be modeled and standardized.
- Deep understanding of the digital landscape and passion around TikTok products.
