Senior Medical Advisor - Women's Health
The Senior Medical Advisor with our Women’s Health Medical affairs team at Bayer is responsible for scientific expertise, medical strategic leadership, medical input into health technology assessments and training of the broader medical and commercial teams. As a Final Medical Signatory with proven experience within Medical Affairs you will be a leader in compliance and an ABPI code expert.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
1. To provide expert medical advice on the conduct of clinical trials, commercial activities and product support.
2. To lead and take full responsibility for UK medical strategic input into the development and implementation of International Clinical Development Plans (ICDP), International Clinical Marketing Plans (ICMP) and domestic trials including budgetary considerations.
3. To lead and take full responsibility for medical input into in marketing and sales operations including product strategy, campaign development, P.R., issues management and training.
4. To lead on and take full responsibility for medical input into in the dissemination of balanced, substantiated and relevant information about the Company’s products on request to the medical and pharmacy professions, and to Bayer (Medical, Marketing, Sales) personnel.
5. To write clinical trial reports and support subsequent publications.
6. To lead on medical initiatives fully independently with minimal support, including investigator initiated requests (IIRs), advisory board meetings, medical training, symposia etc
7. To act as a leader within the brand team with proficient, proven cross functional working ability, directing strategy and fully accountable for medical decisions and strategic plans
8. To have a fully developed network of tier 1 thought leaders, with expert knowledge of the NHS and UK reimbursement and clinical environment
9. To lead on medical aspects of health technology assessments as required by the business
10. To provide medical leadership to the local BU To provide medical leadership and strategic thinking to the local business needs of the organization to ensure business success.
11. Performing job independently but recognises need for advice where appropriate.
12. Ability to recognise decision levels, take responsibility and accountability for leadership decisions and understand the consequences of judgement including ethical, legal and financial implications.
Who you are?
13. Education: Degree on Human Medicine (MB Bs or equivalent) and preferably an expertise in Women’s or Men's Health
14. Fully GMC registered medical practitioner with registration clinical experience and experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry.
15. Passed Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine (Membership of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Physicians, UK would be an advantage).
16. Preferably holds a higher medical professional qualification (e.g. MRCP, FRCS, etc) and/or intercalated BSc. Being eligible to enrol/Enrolled in HMT/PMST in pharmaceutical medicine Member of professional medical associations relevant to the therapeutic area.
17. Final Signatory Status is required for this role
18. Fluent in English.
