RVN required to work at our newly expanded Dyce Practice with cover as required at our Holburn Street Branch. The right candidate would preferably have at least 2 years experience post qualification in a companion Animal Practice. There will be occasions when you will be working as sole RVN; however, on most occasions, you will work as part of a team of 1-2 Vets, 2 RVNs, and 2 VCA/reception staff.
We are a very busy practice, and the role requires any potential applicant to be confident in all aspects of Veterinary Nursing. We all end up ‘mucking in’ where needed, which would include:
1. Communicating with clients - face to face, through e-mail, and over the phone.
2. Communicating effectively with the veterinary team.
3. Making appointments, repeat medication orders, adding documents to client files, taking payments, etc.
4. Supporting the veterinary team during consults - handling animals, dispensing medicines, attending to patients' needs, and accurately recording information.
5. Cleaning and dealing with stock.
We have excellent facilities between our practices with digital x-ray, ultrasound scanner, good in-house lab equipment, and anaesthetic monitoring devices.
Our new premises provide an opportunity for Nurse Clinics, and it would be an advantage to have the confidence to participate in these and to help establish ways to further engage with our clients and their pets.
We have a very busy surgical and medical schedule throughout the day, so working efficiently and effectively to support procedures, including theatre, anaesthetics, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory, is key to the role.
