We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Export Operator to join our dynamic team based in Brighton. This is an exciting opportunity to manage exports from Scandinavia and Europe to Africa via air, sea, and road freight. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with export documentation and the relevant knowledge of shipping processes.
The Candidate:
* Proven experience in export operations and handling export documentation.
* Previous experience in managing exports into Africa is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, Certificates of Origin, and other export-related documents.
* Familiarity with customs procedures and export regulations (customs knowledge is desirable).
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of air, sea, and road freight processes is highly beneficial.
* Previous experience within a fast-paced logistics and shipping operation.
* A high attention to detail is essential.
* Must be resilient and have strong customer service skills.
* Strong administrative skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Competent decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage export shipments from Scandinavia and Europe to Africa, covering air, sea, and road freight.
* Prepare and handle export documentation, including Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, and Certificates of Origin.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers, and freight forwarders to ensure smooth export operations.
* Ensure all necessary paperwork and customs documentation is in order to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
* Coordinate with logistics teams to track shipments and resolve any issues.
* Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Agreeing and confirming costs with freight forwarders.
* Keep all customers informed of all failed services or significant delays.
* Ensuring every customer receives excellent customer service.
