We're currently looking for a Senior Investigations Officer on a 12 month full-time fixed term contract basis.
This position sits within the Professional Conduct Department, in our London office (hybrid working available).
The Job
Reporting to an Assessment & Investigations Manager, on a day-to-day basis you'll be involved in the following:
* Investigating complaints about professional conduct
* Exercising strong case and time management skills
* Reviewing and assessing documentary evidence
* Drafting witness statements
* Drafting clear and detailed reports of findings and decisions
* Drafting Consent Orders and Reports of Disciplinary Allegations
* Preparing associated bundles for hearings
The Person
We're looking for someone who:
* Is a qualified solicitor or barrister with post-qualification experience or specialist investigatory experience in a regulatory environment
* Has experience of making decisions and articulating their reasons in writing
* Has commercial (e.g. company law) and regulatory awareness (e.g. AML)
* Is confident to research areas of practice they are not familiar with
* Is interested in unravelling (sometimes voluminous) facts and information and identifying the key issues
* Is happy to work autonomously and is self-motivated to progress their own case load in keeping with KPIs
* Is comfortable working remotely
* Is a good team player
* Has experience of conducting investigations within a professional regulatory body
