Multiskilled Engineer
Role Overview:
We are seeking a resilient and flexible Multi-skilled Engineer to join our Client. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems within their facility. This role may require working unsocial hours, including night shifts.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out planned preventive maintenance activities on electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they are operating efficiently and safely.
2. Respond promptly to breakdowns or equipment failures, diagnosing and repairing faults on both electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
3. Perform inspections, tests, and measurements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company guidelines.
4. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and equipment performance.
5. Collaborate with other departments and teams to troubleshoot and address cross-functional issues when necessary.
6. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement within the engineering department.
7. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
8. Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices within the engineering field.
9. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Requirements:
1. Resilient and able to work flexible hours, including unsocial hours and night shifts.
2. Possession of a recognised qualification relevant to the role, such as a mechanical or electrical City & Guilds certificate.
3. Skilled in both electrical and mechanical trades, preferably with an apprenticeship and indentures.
4. Knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems.
5. Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
6. Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
8. PLC Knowledge is desirable.
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.
Hours of work:
4 on 4 off continental shift pattern - Days / Nights Rotating.
