This position interacts with internal and external customers to resolve outstanding payments issues as they arise. The position reports to the US Credit Manager.
The role.. .
1. Assist the senior controllers and ultimately the Credit Manager, to ensure cash is collected to terms.
2. Timely and effective collection of all debts
3. Effective management of instalment plans where necessary.
4. Maintaining contact with clients to ensure invoices are received and processed and therefore clear for payment.
5. Dealing with customer queries by phone and email
6. Converting manual payers to auto-pay
7. Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
8. Reconciliation of customer accounts and reduction of unallocated cash
9. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties as assigned by management.
The ideal candidate.. .
10. Minimum of 18 months experience working within a credit control/ accounts receivable function
11. Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
12. Ability to reconcile complex accounts and has excellent attention to detail
13. Competence in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP & PIVOT) and accounting software programmes
14. Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations
15. Have a systematic approach to work and an eye for detail
16. Ability to work proactively, and resolve anomalies
17. Being able to make a judgment when to consult others and act on information
18. A values-led operator who acts as a beacon of integrity and trust and constantly demonstrates reliability
19. Self-Motivation: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines without direct supervision
20. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
21. Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment
