Job Description:
Wigan Council are looking for an experienced, innovative, and creative team manager to manage one of their Teams, as part of our front door Duty Service, to cover a 12 month maternity post.
Within the Duty service, they complete the initial Children and Family assessments within the teams, ensuring that children and families receive the right support at the right time.

Your main responsibilities as a Team Manager:
* Lead a team consisting of a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioner, and 7 Social Workers on a 5-week duty cycle.
* Ensure timely assessments using the Signs of Safety model of practice.
* Put children, young people, and their families at the heart of all activities.
* Possess significant knowledge of research, innovation, and good practice.
* Have experience in managing and leading a team to achieve effective outcomes for children and families.
* Possess in-depth knowledge of statutory and legislative frameworks related to effective care planning.
* Experience with a broad spectrum of services in social work with children and families.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues from other areas of Children’s services.
* Demonstrate good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
What we are looking for in a Team Manager:
* Social Work England registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Hold a full UK driving licence
* Post-qualified experience
* Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
