Role: Technical Instructor (Technology & Gym: Neuro Rehabilitation Unit)

Hours: Full time at 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Instructor to join our therapies team at The Wellington Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. This role is suitable for someone who already works as a physiotherapy assistant or someone who has a keen interested in physical exercise and the use of technology in the gym setting. It is also a great opportunity for the individual to grow and develop a skill set around the use of technology in neuro-rehabilitation working alongside a team of specialist physiotherapists.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of qualified Physiotherapists as part of a multidisciplinary teamwith patients who have disability resulting from neurological, medical or surgical conditions. The post holder will also be expected to lead with group-based exercise sessions with or with technological equipment. They will be required to perform some non-clinical duties and support the upkeep and maintenance of gym and technological equipment. Training will be provided to support the candidate to fulfil their duties.

What you will bring?
1. Good level of spoken & written English
2. Able to use Microsoft programs (Word, Outlook & Excel)
3. Effective communication styles
4. Previous experience of work exercise or within a physiotherapy setting
5. Completion of a science-based degree or equivalent (Desirable)
6. Experience working as a Physiotherapy Assistant (Desirable)
7. Undertaken exercise-based training/courses (Desirable)
