Job overview
The role of the Clinical Support Worker is to support the Paediatric Registered Nurse in the delivery of high quality, evidence-based, holistic patient care. In order to support service delivery and the highest level of care for our patients, you will be required to participate in a 24-hour shift pattern and possible rotation between ward and children's outpatient area.
Hours per week: 37.50
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Clinical Support Worker (CSW) to join our friendly and supportive Nursing/CSW team on the Children's Ward. The successful applicant will need to be a team player with excellent communication skills and a drive to provide high quality care. We actively encourage personal development and offer opportunity to complete in-house training to develop the role of health care assistant working with children and young people. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to include weekends and bank holidays.
The children's ward at Macclesfield Hospital includes a 16 bedded unit for both medical and surgical patients, and a 5 bedded observation and assessment unit. We also have a Children's out-patients and Specialist Nurses for Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma, Allergy, Eczema and Research. We have a dedicated team of Children's Community Nurses to facilitate health care for children in their own home.
