The Night Shift Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring that daily warehouse operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. The role involves supervising tasks such as picking, packing, loading, and shipping of goods, while ensuring that all processes comply with company standards and health and safety regulations. The Warehouse Team Leader plays a key role in motivating the team, managing performance, and contributing to the overall success of warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse operatives, ensuring tasks such as receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping are completed efficiently and accurately.
2. Monitor the performance of team members, providing coaching, feedback, and guidance to ensure productivity and quality targets are met. Address any performance issues and work with the team to improve individual and collective output.
3. Allocate tasks to team members based on workload, skills, and operational priorities. Ensure that tasks are completed within required timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
4. Work with the team to ensure accurate stock counts, stock rotation, and proper handling and storage of goods to minimise shrinkage, damages, and discrepancies.
5. Act as a liaison between the warehouse operatives and management, ensuring that information regarding targets, updates, and changes in processes are clearly communicated to the team.
6. Identify and resolve operational issues within the team, including workflow bottlenecks, stock discrepancies, and equipment malfunctions. Escalate any significant issues to the FLM as necessary.
7. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the warehouse, working with the management team to implement changes that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations.
8. Assist in planning and managing work shifts to ensure sufficient coverage and the smooth running of operations. Ensure all tasks are adequately covered during each shift.
Skills and Experience
1. Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably in a supervisory or team leader role.
2. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and engage staff.
3. Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and health and safety standards.
4. Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with management and team members.
6. Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
