This is a full-time position with a permanent contract, perfect for those passionate about delivering high-quality therapeutic support to students with special educational needs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care to students. You’ll work closely with occupational therapists, music therapists, and teaching staff to deliver joint therapy sessions, promoting the emotional, social, and educational development of students with autism, Down’s Syndrome, and other learning disabilities. Key Responsibilities: Provide speech and language therapy to students with SEND in both individual and group settings. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic support. Develop personalised therapy plans tailored to each student's needs. Work closely with teachers and support staff to integrate therapy into the classroom. Offer training to school staff to support student communication needs. Maintain thorough records of student progress and report to senior leadership. Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s wider therapy programme. Engage in professional development, including specialisation in AAC. Qualifications and Experience: Experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist in a school setting (desirable, not essential). Knowledge and understanding of autism, Down’s Syndrome, and learning disabilities. Experience or interest in AAC (desirable). Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Relevant qualifications in Speech and Language Therapy.
