Introduction The PMO Manager - Generative AI Programme plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of the BBC's Generative AI programme and initiatives. Working closely with the Programme Manager, this role is responsible for tracking programme deliverables, managing risks and dependencies across multiple AI projects, and ensuring effective governance and reporting. The PMO Manager will provide structured oversight of project progress, helping ensure alignment with BBC strategic priorities while enabling efficient execution of AI initiatives. This is a highly collaborative role, requiring strong organisational and stakeholder management skills. The post-holder will be expected to work with multiple teams, supporting project leads in delivering against milestones and providing regular updates to the Generative AI Steering Group. Responsibilities • Track and monitor programme deliverables, ensuring alignment with the BBC's Generative AI Work Plan. • Manage programme-wide risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring potential blockers are identified and mitigated early. • Work closely with the Programme Manager to maintain programme governance, ensuring seamless execution of key AI initiatives. • Develop and maintain robust reporting mechanisms, ensuring accurate and timely updates on programme progress. • Prepare and deliver status reports for the Generative AI Steering Group, providing clear insights into project timelines, risks, and strategic alignment. • Support cross-team collaboration, ensuring project leads have visibility of dependencies and shared risks. • Ensure project governance frameworks are adhered to, maintaining structured processes for approvals, escalations, and decision-making. • Maintain up-to-date programme documentation, including risk registers, action logs, and workstream updates. • Identify and drive continuous improvements in PMO processes to enhance programme delivery. Are you the right candidate • Proven experience in programme/project management or PMO roles, ideally within a media, technology, or innovation-driven environment. • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to track complex project dependencies across multiple workstreams. • Experience in risk management, with the ability to identify and mitigate programme risks proactively. • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, ensuring senior leadership receives clear and concise updates. • Experience in governance and reporting, including preparing status updates for steering groups or senior leadership teams. • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, supporting teams in delivering against strategic goals. • Strong proficiency in project management tools and frameworks, ensuring efficient tracking and reporting of programme deliverables. • Familiarity with AI, digital transformation, or innovation programmes is desirable but not essential.
