Job overview
We have 2 exciting opportunities to work at HMP Peterborough as part of the Pharmacy team. We provide an integrated healthcare model working closely with primary care, mental health, substance misuse, and G.Ps to deliver a healthcare service to the residents of HMP Peterborough.
We are seeking to appoint 2 pharmacy technicians with a wide range of experience to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidates will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of local/national pharmacy procedures.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an active member of the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of a legal, safe, high-quality pharmaceutical service, which includes physical health, mental health, and substance misuse medications to patients within HMP Peterborough. The service will reflect National and Local Policies and Priorities, taking into account the level of security that must be maintained at all times.
The successful candidates will have responsibility for completing accurate medicines reconciliations, the safe and timely administration of medication, and general responsibilities relating to medicine management, ensuring a complete medicines management service is provided to the patients.
The successful candidate will be innovative, forward-thinking, diverse, and can work autonomously. You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Person specification
Education
* Have at least 4 GCSEs including Math and English or equivalent
* Registered on the General Pharmaceutical Council or working towards this
Experience
* Have experience in the efficient day-to-day running of pharmacy services
* Be fully conversant with developments in local/national pharmacy procedures and assist the pharmacy provider in regular review and development of these
* Have experience in performing medicines reconciliation
* Have experience in providing advice to patients on compliance and concordance
* Have experience in working within a secure environment
* Have experience in identifying areas where the medicines management and pharmacy service can be developed
