As an Asset Planning Engineer, you will provide technical support to the Asset Strategy and Capital Delivery Directorate. The Asset Planning function drives robust investment planning to ensure projects meet business needs and deliver set out benefits. Asset Planning Engineers in the Infrastructure Asset Planning team develop best value and sustainable investments for Infrastructure assets including distribution mains, trunk mains, meters, and control valves.
Project work will consist of, but not limited to:
1. Management of infrastructure risks - working with operational and delivery teams;
2. Ownership of projects at planning at the concept phase and support through the project lifecycle;
3. Development and support of investment project proposals and business cases, driven by data and optimising performance, risks, and cost.
Experience required:
* High level of competency in data capture, managing and analysis;
* Advanced MS Office skills, experience using Microsoft Visio;
* Good knowledge of water network functionality;
* Clean Driving licence;
* Accuracy of work and ability to follow process;
* Data analysis skills and ability to work with large data sets;
* Health and Safety focus;
* Strong communications both oral and written;
* Qualifications suitable for route to chartership e.g., CIWEM, ICE or IoW (desirable).
