Job Title: ESOL Tutor Location: Rainham, London Contract Type: Flexible, Part-Time Start Date: ASAP Pay Rate: Starting from £25/hour (based on experience and qualifications) About the Role As an ESOL Tutor, you will design and deliver engaging, customized lessons that develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. You will work with a diverse group of students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them improve their English language proficiency. Your work is crucial in supporting learners to integrate successfully into new environments and advance academically and personally. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver ESOL lessons in one-to-one or small group settings. Adapt teaching methods to meet the varied needs of your students, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible. Incorporate strategies and modifications to support students with SEN. Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to learners and, where appropriate, to parents or guardians. Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence and active participation. Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to enhance the overall learning experience. Requirements ESOL, EAL, or TEFL qualification. Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring ESOL. Experience working with SEN children is essential. Right to work in the UK. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one). Desired Qualities Teaching qualification such as PGCE or QTS is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a flexible, adaptable approach to teaching. A genuine passion for helping learners improve their language skills and achieve their goals.
