Schlam is seeking a talented and driven HSEQ Manager to be a key part of our team. About the Role:
* Advocate for safety and promote a safety-first culture.
* Perform regular risk assessments and audits to pinpoint potential hazards.
* Build strong relationships with operational staff to deliver focused HSEQ support.
* Aid in incident investigations utilizing Root Cause Analysis techniques.
* Provide HSEQ training and inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
* Help drive the Cru risk profile to achieve As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) standards.
* Support the administration of Safety IQ and contribute to the development of an accredited Integrated Management System (IMS).
* Conduct safety training sessions in both field and office environments.
Essential Criteria:
* Must possess full working rights in Australia.
* Previous experience in the WA mining industry – essential.
* Hold a Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
* Additional qualifications in risk management, incident investigation, or emergency response are a plus.
* First Aid/CPR certification is mandatory.
* A valid C Class driver’s license is required.
* Previous experience in IOS and auditing is highly valued.
* Willingness to attend sites as needed on an ad hoc basis.
* A national police check completed within the last three months is required.
* Qualifications in Health Screening and Injury Management are necessary.
* Strong knowledge of HSEQ management systems, standards, and practices.
* Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to HSEQ.
* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
* Professional demeanor with strong skills in relationship-building.
* Effective time management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to high ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
* Analytical mindset for incident analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
* Meticulous attention to detail in conducting risk assessments, audits, and investigations.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
* Field advisor must be willing to travel for half of the month.
* HSEQ manager must be willing to travel for one week per month.
