The Council is seeking an Operational Manager to join the Parks and Cemeteries team, you do not have to be a park professional, but you must have experience of operational management.
This role will be responsible for not only delivering its wide range of grounds maintenance services, including hard and soft landscaping and manage the Parks Protection team, whilst collaborating with other operational areas within the Council. Ipswich is proud of its variety of parks and open spaces, which includes two English Heritage listed sites, 50 Amenity Green Spaces and 94 play areas. With three retained Green Flag Awards with ambition to achieve more.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a hands-on leader with strong operational management experience. You will have the ability to coach, motive, and develop teams while maintaining a result driven approach. You must be able to demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills, and ability to manage budgets. Alongside this you must have excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, knowledge of health and safety regulations and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
