Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and enthusiastic Early Years Program Coordinator to lead the implementation of our early childhood programs. This individual will design and oversee age-appropriate programs that nurture children’s development, respect cultural traditions, and build strong connections between children, families, and the community. This role involves program planning, staff support, community engagement, and ensuring compliance with educational and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, evaluate and deliver the Indigenous Early Learning Program.
2. Develop and implement age-appropriate programs that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and physical development.
3. Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations to enhance program offerings.
4. Track participation, outcomes, and prepare reports on program progress for funding agencies.
5. Ensure programs are accessible, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to the needs of the community.
6. Develop and distribute educational resources and workshops on prenatal and infant care, tailored to community needs.
7. Provide guidance and resources to families regarding early childhood development, parenting, and community services.
8. Collaborate with Beaverhouse First Nation staff and community partners to coordinate services.
9. Maintain accurate and confidential records related to children’s progress and program participation.
10. Facilitate parenting workshops and provide support on child development and family wellness.
11. Conduct regular program evaluations to identify areas for improvement and ensure goals are being met effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in early learning program coordination, childcare management, or a similar role.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families from diverse backgrounds.
4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
5. Current Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector) required.
6. Manage program budgets, resources, and scheduling.
Assets:
1. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, TEAMS, and other related office programs.
2. Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
3. Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
4. Knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous resources, service providers, and programs in the district.
