Unlock your passions @ The Laurels Veterinary Group
The Laurels Veterinary Group is a progressive first opinion small animal practice set across 2 sites in rural Herefordshire countryside, in the heart of the Wye Valley. Both sites are fully equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab and laser therapy. We have a mixed caseload and endeavour to provide an exceptional standard of care. Outside of work, we are situated a stone's throw from the beautiful Black mountains and Brecon Beacons for those who like to explore and spend time in nature.
The team benefits from a wealth of experience with both Medicine and Surgery certificate holders. We perform a range of advanced orthopaedic procedures including TPLO’s in house but have the benefit of a local referral network when required. We have a well-established loyal team ethic ensuring every team member is valued and invested in. You will be supported by a team of 4 other Vets, 2 RVN, and 6 support staff.
The practice offers a new Graduate the independence of allowing them to build experience taking on cases and surgeries whilst having the support of an experienced Vet in the background to assist if and when needed which will hopefully allow the graduate to progress into a confident and competent Veterinary surgeon with a complete range of veterinary skills with further progression and development of own interests actively supported and encouraged. A four-day week offers excellent opportunity for a work-life balance, although a part time role could be considered for the right candidate. No OOHs as this is provided by Vets Now.
Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. You are required to participate in a weekend rota working 1 Saturday in 4 plus weekend inpatient duties with time off in lieu.
You will be fully supported by a very experienced team with a wealth of knowledge to share and pass on, allowing the graduate to gain the essential skills, but the with opportunity to develop their own areas of interest as their career progresses. Further development beyond the graduate scheme actively encouraged.
