1 The post holder will support SWGLH colleagues, by a. Providing Specialist Technical Support: b. Investigate and resolve complex IM&T issues, including system errors, security breaches, and user requirements. c. Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and inform decision-making. d. Develop and deliver specialized training programs on complex IM&T topics. e. Design, develop, and adapt complex software, web pages, and information reports. Strategic Planning & Project Management: f. Contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of IM&T solutions within specialized areas. g. Manage and deliver IM&T projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Policy & Service Development: h. Contribute to the development and implementation of IM&T policies and procedures. i. Propose and implement changes to services and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Technical Expertise & Support: j. Maintain a high level of expertise in relevant technologies and industry best practices. k. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and stakeholders. l. Ensure the proper and safe use of IT equipment and resources. m. Develop and create reports of the data stored within the laboratory information management system (LIMS) using specialist business intelligence software (e.g. Crystal reports) n. Provide expert assistance in the production of all activity information, including statutory/mandatory NHSE return. o. Optimising and maintaining the current departmental IT solution (STAR LIMS), p. Management of data and cloud infrastructure q. Creating or tailoring reporting solutions to further develop a dashboard functionality. r. Advising on issues of data standards and quality as necessary. s. Tailoring the current LIMS to meet NHSE KPIs and quality improvements. t. The post holder will also be involved in leading projects or ad hoc queries that address key analytical and information needs of the SWGLH.
