ABOUT YOU
You must possess a genuine desire to help the community, be empathetic, and attentive to our customer’s needs.
You will have experience working in a similar purchasing role and be used to a busy office and customer service environment. You have experience in negotiating supplier contracts to gain cost reduction and have previously prepared and interrogated business reports.
You are able to contribute ideas, suggestions, and feedback to improve the service and to identify and implement service improvement projects.
You will have a good standard education and ideally be working towards CIPS or equivalent qualification. You are competent with advanced Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; familiarity with Microsoft Business Central is advantageous.
Good verbal and written communication skills are essential as an important part of this role is communicating with suppliers over the phone or via written word. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
THE ROLE
Support the Supply Chain Team in all aspects of procurement activities. You will be the key focal point for the purchasing department regarding all administration and purchasing matters and act as a point of contact and escalation for external and internal customers and suppliers.
Main Responsibilities
* Manage transactional purchase orders against demand of the system and shared forecasting information.
* Manage transactional suppliers to ensure shared processes are relevant.
* Ensure that Business Central is maintained with accurate and up-to-date information.
* Source new parts as required, gathering necessary information including price, supplier, full description, and lead time.
* Source new/alternative suppliers.
* Work towards achieving cost reductions through negotiation and sourcing against set objectives.
* Review the overall “value” offered by existing suppliers and ensure that the company’s purchasing remains competitive.
* Assist in managing the information between Appello and our third-party logistics company.
* Review the compliance of all supply chain documentation such as subcontractors and consultants working with the Appello Group.
* Ensure the purchasing administration team's business targets/KPI’s are met.
* Create and interrogate various daily and monthly reports and attend meetings.
* Manage the process of returned items.
* Manage the facilities maintenance of all Appello Group buildings.
* Provide administrative support to other functions within the Supply Chain as required during peak loading.
* Ensure office procedures and working practices are followed and regularly reviewed in accordance with the Quality Management System.
* Assist with the upkeep of the warehouse/storage area, including moving boxes and recycling (suitable training will be provided).
* Help manage, maintain, and promote the different Appello accreditations, including but not limited to BSI, BAFE, TSA.
* Liaise with other departments within the business to ensure the smooth and efficient transfer of high-quality information and data.
* Create monthly reports to support purchasing targets and KPI’s.
