Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department, Nights
Position Type: Full-time
Shift: Night shift (3, 12-hour shifts, 72hrs/week)
Sign-on Bonus: $7,500 for eligible new hires
Job Summary:
The Emergency Nurse must be able to think on their feet and prioritize quickly. They must have the flexibility to continually restructure their time, sometimes by the minute. Responsibilities include obtaining health histories, completing accurate physical assessments, and planning for treatment. Critical thinking and sharp decision-making skills are essential for this role. Good communication skills are imperative, as the nurse must handle unplanned situations, including dealing with angry or combative behaviors expressed by patients or their families. Attributes for success in the emergency department include compassion, humor, good organizational skills, and being a team player.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Graduation from an RN program and current unencumbered Vermont nursing license.
2. Experience: ER experience preferred; current BLS certification required. Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC certifications or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
Position Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and providing care to patients in the Acute unit, which includes assessment, treatment, development of a plan of care, and discharge planning.
Additional Qualifications:
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as an RN and licensed in the State of Vermont.
2. Experience: Clinical experience in Med-Surg preferred, but willing to train.
