About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing SME operating in the manufacturing, sales, and distribution sector. With a strong market presence and ambitious expansion plans, they are seeking a highly skilled Managing Director with a finance background to drive scalable growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of scaling businesses, transitioning operations to industrial sites, and optimising supply chain and stock management functions.
Role Overview
The Managing Director will be responsible for setting and executing the company’s strategic growth plan, ensuring financial stability, and leading the transition to a larger industrial site. The role requires strong financial acumen, leadership, and expertise in operational efficiency, procurement, and stock levelling.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership & Growth: Develop and implement a scalable growth strategy, positioning the company for long-term success.
* Financial Management: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management to ensure sustainable growth.
* Business Scaling: Drive operational improvements and expansion strategies to increase production capacity and efficiency.
* Site Transition: Lead the relocation of the business from its current site to a larger industrial facility, ensuring minimal disruption and operational continuity.
* Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management: Optimise procurement, stock management, and distribution to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* Sales & Market Expansion: Develop strategies to expand market share, improve sales channels, and enhance customer relationships.
* Operational Excellence: Implement best practices in manufacturing, storage, and distribution to streamline operations.
* Team Leadership & Development: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team to support the company’s growth objectives.
Key Requirements
* Finance Expertise: Strong financial background with experience in financial planning, forecasting, and cost control.
* Proven Scaling Experience: Demonstrated ability to scale SMEs and drive rapid growth in manufacturing and distribution sectors.
* Industry Knowledge: Experience working in manufacturing, sales, storage, distribution, procurement, and stock management.
* Site Relocation Experience: Hands-on experience in moving operations from one site to a larger industrial site for expansion.
* Leadership & Decision-Making: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
* Operational Efficiency: Deep understanding of supply chain management, procurement strategies, and stock levelling.
* UK Market Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, industry trends, and market dynamics.
Preferred Qualifications
* MBA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent finance-related qualification.
* Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or related industries.
* Experience working with SMEs and driving fast-paced growth.
* Experience in a finance role.
