Job Title: ALN Coordinator
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Job Purpose: To assist the Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher with the management and organisation of ALN within the school, aiming to achieve the highest standards of pupil achievement and school efficiency.
The School:
Branas School supports young people aged 11-18, many of whom have experienced adverse childhood experiences and present with complex needs. Our school supports students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, along with mild to moderate learning difficulties. We focus on personalised support to help students achieve their goals and develop self-esteem, confidence, respect, and consideration for others, enabling them to become effective citizens.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold relevant qualifications for the role.
* Have strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and Ofsted Inspection Framework.
* Possess safeguarding knowledge and experience working as part of a team to safeguard young people effectively.
* Be an outstanding classroom practitioner, planning, delivering, and assessing regularly, proactively seeking to develop practice.
* Experience in managing complex behaviours with trauma-informed practices and interventions is desirable.
Responsibilities:
* Participate fully in school life, promoting its ethos, values, and aims.
* Maintain high expectations and lead by example.
* Contribute to evaluating, monitoring, and developing the school curriculum, supporting positive change.
* Monitor the implementation of policies and procedures.
* Assist in devising timetables, rotas, and managing staff teams.
* Develop relationships with students, parents, and stakeholders.
* Participate in reviewing and developing curriculum activities and pastoral functions.
* Lead staff in planning for ILPs and Pupil Profiles, supporting target setting and progress monitoring.
* Complete annual reviews for IDP/EHCP pupils.
* Coordinate assessments for learner needs.
* Develop strategic ALN plans with clear targets, timelines, and success criteria aligned with the School Improvement Plan.
