Education and Employment Adviser x 2 (1 x Permanent and 1 x Fixed Term to 31/12/2026)
About us
As part of Warrington Borough Council's education and inclusion service, we provide information, advice, and guidance. Our priority is to make sure every young person makes the right choice, helping them to remain in education, training, or employment with training.
We offer one-to-one careers guidance appointments either face-to-face, virtual, or over the phone. Our purpose is to work with local young people to understand their interests and help them find the best career choice, leading to positive outcomes.
The role
Working as part of a dynamic and passionate team, the successful candidate will be expected to deliver quality, person-centred information, advice, and guidance to a variety of young people. From individual, brief interventions, such as one-off careers appointments, to longer-term engagement and group delivery, the diversity of the role reflects the diversity of our local community.
Hours of work will generally be Monday to Friday during office hours from a base at 1 Time Square. However, the ability to work at other professional, community, and educational settings will be expected, as will the flexibility to work outside office hours on occasion.
What's needed?
An enthusiasm to help others is a must, along with professional communication skills and experience within a similar role and/or setting. Working primarily with and/or on behalf of young people with SEND, applicants should be confident and experienced in supporting people with additional needs. A relevant level 4 qualification in information, advice, and guidance, or equivalent, ensures we maintain our professionally recognized standards.
As well as a competitive salary, working for us means you get:
* 26 days annual holiday - raising to 31 after 5 years of service (pro-rata)
* Access to our attractive and competitive benefits package
* Access to our Health & Wellbeing Programme
