We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Architect to join our existing experienced team.
What do we look for in an Enterprise Architect?
We are powered by brilliant people. As an Enterprise Architect, you will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the following:
The Enterprise Architect will work with the Chief Architect Air Programme Manager to develop the customer's business architecture. Functions of the role will include:
1. Coordinate multi-stakeholder analysis into reports and presentations for delivery to customers.
2. Produce the appropriate architectural artefacts. As a minimum these will be high quality visualisations for non-architects and senior decision makers.
3. Identify performance shortfalls and propose candidate options and methods for improvement.
4. Support the production of the project final reports by providing content agreed with the Project Lead and Senior Architect, including input into High Level Design documentation.
5. Understand and document the complete service lifecycle including concept through to design, build, test and deployment.
6. Travel within the UK to meet with our customers and industry partners.
Skills and Experience
Essential Skills
1. The ability to represent complex models in a range of architectural styles/methods with evidence in either a qualification such as TOGAF or through delivering MODAF and/or NAF architecture outputs describing logical and physical designs.
2. Experience using ArchiMate 3.0, UML, BPMN & Enterprise Architecture tooling such as Archi, BiZZDesign Enterprise Studio, Sparx Enterprise Architect & MooD.
3. Ability to work with End Users, Capability Delivery staff and technical design teams requiring experience in gathering information via workshops and stakeholder engagement meetings.
4. A strong interest and appreciation of technology trends and government IT strategy such as Cloud, Internet of Things, Unmanned Air Systems (UAS), Open Architectures, Cyber Security, Data Analytics and Digital service design and delivery.
5. Ability to deliver leading Architecture Development methodologies such as TOGAF.
6. Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office tools including Visio.
Essential Experience
1. Experience of developing and delivering digital architectures relevant to the Royal Air Force (RAF) covering conceptual design in the form of concept graphics, information exchange views, graphical use cases, solution designs.
2. Experience of developing open/modular architectures to support the development of Business Requirements or Services.
3. Understanding of and experience with the use of Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as MODAF/NAF, ISO/IEC/IEEE42010, TOGAF, Zachman and the ITIL & IT4IT service architecture frameworks.
4. Strong emphasis on developing exploitable architectures for use in High Level Designs and Solution Architecture documents.
Desirable Experience
1. Knowledge of military systems in particular C2, ISR processes, Logistic Systems. FACE/ PYRAMID Architectures.
2. Appreciation of V-V & EASE System Engineering processes.
3. Knowledge of Microservices and Service Oriented Architectures, DevOps, Secure by Design, cloud computing, APIs.
4. Experience of Defence Science and Technology / Innovation Projects.
5. Knowledge of UK Joint and single Services ISR Systems and processes, in particular those used by C2 and ISR Roles.
6. Experience in Data Science, AI/ ML, Autonomy, Simulation.
7. Excellent communication and written skills.
8. Must have a positive, flexible approach.
9. Sharp intellect, with a challenging approach and a 'can-do' attitude.
10. Resilient with a strong work ethic.
11. Exceptional team player, practicing and encouraging an open environment where information and ideas are shared and innovative thinking is stimulated.
