Our pupils are amazing and they deserve amazing support! As a TA for Literacy Interventions, you will put pupils at the centre of your work, supporting them to thrive in the school environment so that they develop the skills needed for life. You will work with pupils to improve opportunities for them to develop their talents and interests and help them to grow in confidence and independence. This will include working with pupils on an individual basis and in small groups, both on a regular and an ad-hoc basis. You will be a team player and work closely with the teachers of Literacy and the wider staff team to ensure pupils achieve the best possible outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working with Pupils
1. Identify strategies to help overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning within Literacy.
2. Use existing systems to support the monitoring of pupils’ behaviour.
3. Provide individual support for pupils and review ongoing progress towards set goals.
Working with Staff
1. Liaise with other staff to monitor pupils’ engagement, achievement and well-being.
2. Work with all teachers to identify pupils in need of additional support and to deliver individual support.
Administration
1. Maintain accurate records of interventions and relevant meetings.
2. Contribute to the completion of relevant paperwork required by external agencies.
Safeguarding
1. Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent) and our safeguarding and child protection policies.
2. Promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the school.
