If so, St Giles has opportunities for four Volunteer NLFC Peer Advisors to support the delivery of a high-level service which will provide a programme of engagement, advocacy and support to vulnerable adults who may have multiple barriers, including experience of the criminal justice system, substance misuse, homelessness and learning difficulties.

About this key role
As a proactive member of an energetic and highly motivated team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering one-to-one customised support and group activities that will enable clients to overcome their employment and wider barriers and make progress with their personal goals and ambitions.
You will engage, motivate, advocate for and support a caseload of people experiencing a range of barriers, including offending, gang involvement/risk of, substance use, homelessness, poverty, mental health, and disability, to achieve set engagement and employment targets. We will also count on you to engage employers and work collaboratively with local agencies.
What we are looking for
1. Experience of developing successful inter-agency work, particularly with a view to working successfully with referring agencies to support the needs of participants.
2. Experience of maintaining accurate financial records and evidencing all spend.
3. Good understanding of the principles of needs and risk assessment, and care co-ordination/planning.
4. Ability to assess the needs of vulnerable clients and provide client-led support to address these needs in a variety of ways.
5. Excellent written and communication skills, including familiarity with file-keeping procedures, letter writing, advocacy and competent IT skills.
6. A proactive, flexible and collaborative approach to your work.
Please note: this role requires that successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced DBS check, on the basis that the post involves contact with vulnerable participants and colleagues.
