Our client, A Large public sector organisation, based in the Belfast area is looking for an Agriculture Inspector to join their team.
Duration: Initially expected to last for 6 months with an option to extend
Rate of pay: £17.40
Location: Belfast with some travel expected to Larne & Warrenpoint port
Hours: 37 hours per week. This will be worked as part of a shift arrangement which will include regular weekend and night duty. It is expected that the four-week shift pattern will provide coverage for 3 shifts of 8.24 hours duration every 24 hours i.e. early, late and overnight shift as follows. This includes a one hour in work rest/meal break. Staff cover 6 nights during the night shift week.
An example of working times is as follows:
Early Shift: 9:00am-5:00pm
Late Shift: 5:00pm-1:00am
Night Shift: 1:00am-9:00am
Shift patterns may be subject to change, determined by business needs.
Main Duties:
The post holders will through an identify check of consignments of plants for planting, seed potatoes and used agricultural machinery record that the information on the trade unit matches information for data fields provided on pre-notified Common Health Entry Documents ( CHED PP). Non compliances will be referred to supervisor for action to enable compliance or enforcement actions to be taken. The post holder may be required to assist with other duties within DAERA Portal across the NIPHL and NERMS schemes.
Essential Criteria:
The minimum entry level qualifications to the Inspector Group 1 grade within DAERA are:
At least 4 GCSE/GCE “O” levels at Grade C or above in 4 subjects (including English and Mathematics) or equivalent
AND (i) A Work- based Diploma in Agriculture or (ii) A BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture/ (iii) or Equivalent.
Desired Experience and Qualifications.
Relevant experience in last 2 years desirable.
Training will be provided.
