Warehouse Operator, Basildon, Essex We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our growing team at our new warehouse in Basildon. As a warehouse operative, you will be working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating efficiency and commitment to achieve your tasks while striving to meet business performance targets. Our client is a privately-owned global organisation specialising in the formulation, manufacture, and global distribution of fuel and lubricant additives, base oils, marker dyes, and specialty products for the oil industry. They offer an extensive portfolio of products to meet the needs of international oil groups, fuel storage, supply terminals, fuel blenders, lubricant manufacturers, and fuel wholesalers worldwide. Key Responsibilities include: The role of a warehouse operative provides a varied workday that includes: - Assisting with all shipping, receiving, and inventory organisation operations - Efficiently carrying out all product loading and unloading tasks - Tracking incoming and outgoing orders - Receiving and processing new inventory, ensuring contents match manifest documents - Inspecting receivables for defects, damages, or missing items - Properly inventorying incoming goods - Unloading, stacking, moving, and placing products in designated areas - Moving and transferring products between various sections of the warehouse as needed - Using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand carts, etc., to transfer and deliver goods - Performing detailed manual inventory counts - Labelling warehouse stock for quick and easy identification and retrieval - Stacking, shelving, and staging items for storage and shipment as necessary - Fulfilling and tracking outgoing orders - Collecting, preparing, packaging, and labelling goods for shipment - Double-checking items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders - Ensuring tools and equipment are kept clean and in working order - Reporting any equipment malfunctions or issues to upper management - Working with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks Picking and packing products can involve a substantial amount of manual handling, including bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching, and lifting. Good mobility is essential to ensure you can work safely within health and safety regulations without placing undue strain on your body. The ideal candidate will have: - Warehouse experience - Forklift and flexi truck certification with a current licence and recent experience - Physical stamina, with the ability to lift a minimum of 20 kg at a time - Ability to meet the physical demands of the job - Familiarity with common warehouse tools and equipment - Ability to work shifts - Computer literacy - Excellent verbal communication skills - Good organisational skills - Reliability and dependability - Literacy and numeracy skills - Self-motivation - Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks - Comfort working both independently and as part of a team - A focus on safety DBS Checks In conjunction with the companys Transport Security Plan, your employment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
