Job summary
Hywel Dda University Health Board School Nursing Team are looking for 2 experienced Band 5 Registered Staff Nurses to join their Carmarthenshire team.
This vacancy involves working hours, all year round on a permanent basis.
Main duties of the job
The School Nursing service is central to a range of services that promote the public health agenda and support the physical, emotional and social health of children and young people aged between 5 to 16 years (or up to 18 years if in 6th form).
The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, be able to demonstrate their ability to work as an autonomous practitioner and undertake delegated tasks within a team environment, in line with the NMC code of professional conduct. They will participate in school based immunisation programmes, administering vaccines to children and young people and collating consent forms returned by parents.
The School Nursing service are keen to support any ongoing professional development in order for the successful candidate to apply for the role of SCPHN School Nurse should they be interested.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
