As a Utility Surveyor, you will play a vital role in the success of projects by undertaking utility surveys, producing CAD drawings and reports, and assisting in the overall development of the survey department.
The Role
You will receive client briefs, formulate scopes of work, and develop design philosophies. Your responsibilities will include:
Undertaking utility surveys from start to finish Manhole lifting, recording observations, and measurements Locating utilities through electromagnetic locators and ground-penetrating radar Total station and GPS/GNSS observations Producing Utility Survey drawings and reports Managing and maintaining survey equipment Production of CAD drawings from survey data Post-processing of GPR data Assisting in the overall development of the survey department Having knowledge of PAS128 and concepts related to the safe design and operation of on-site activities
Skills and Experience
You are technically minded with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the utility mapping industry The ideal candidate should have a proactive attitude, a willingness to embrace new techniques, and familiarity with the latest digital mapping technology, along with demonstrable expertise with EML, GPR, GPS, digital Total Stations, and CAD packages It would be advantageous to possess NVQ3 in utility mapping or higher and have confidence in using GPR data post-processing software
