Rate: up to 650 pd inside IR35
Location: Any DWP Hub 2 days p/week onsite

Due to the nature of the position, you must either be a British Citizen or have stayed in the UK for 5 years and not have been out of the UK for 27 days or more in the last 5 years.
Our client is rationalising its Atlassian installations for a national programme and is looking for an experienced Jira/Confluence administrator to lead, design and perform the migration, in addition to providing ongoing business-driven enhancement and administration of Jira and Confluence.
Key areas of enhancement are:
1. New, bespoke Jira projects to support the business needs of teams within Working Age Services
2. Integration with Service Now to enable strategic incident management approach
3. Performance tuning
We need someone who has a deep understanding of Jira and Confluence administration and how this can be safely applied in a complex environment that covers software & IaaS development, product support and user-centric design.
UC is an agile project development environment, so you will be expected to work closely with users to understand their needs and provide a solution that meets the needs they have described, all at pace.
We are looking for expert-level knowledge and deep experience in:
1. Jira and Confluence
2. Atlassian plugins (including writing groovy for script runner)
3. Safely migrating Jira and Confluence projects/spaces and users to a new installation
4. Co-designing effective Jira workflows/schemes with delivery leaders
5. Designing and running an administration function fit for regular requests for new users, new spaces, customised Jira workflows/schemes for projects etc
6. Reviewing and improving security groups and roles to improve ease of management
7. Ensuring effective communication between stakeholders for the design and transition to the single installation
8. Performing upgrades with communication to affected end users
9. Optimising and improving Jira/Confluence performance
10. Working at a good pace
It would also be very useful (but not essential) if you have previously worked in an agile environment, and have experience of creating and managing infrastructure solutions in AWS.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Maximize support function.
2. Manage projects using Jira and Confluence (Atlassian).
3. Perform analysis to simplify and improve processes.
4. Migrate to Atlassian cloud.
5. Collaborate with the rest of the service team for analysis.
Key Skills and Experience:
1. Jira Experience: Priority skill, essential for the role.
2. Infrastructure Knowledge: Secondary but highly desirable.
3. Migration to Cloud: Experience in migrating to Atlassian cloud.
4. Atlassian Professional Certifications: A bonus but not mandatory.
