This role involves working across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals as a Senior Support Pharmacist participating in 9-month rotations across specialties including acute and general medicine, respiratory, infectious diseases, general surgery and nutrition, specialist surgery and critical care which offer an opportunity to broaden your experience.
Applicants who don't meet the criteria in the person specification relating to diploma status but who can demonstrate at least 12 months post-registration hospital experience are invited to apply and will be appointed in a progressional post under Agenda for Change Annex 21 (payment at 75% of the maximum band 7 pay, uplifted to the starting pay of a band 7 as per Agenda for Change on completion of the first year of clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway and 12 months experience at band 7). Applicants will then progress on to the independent prescribing course.

You will deliver a high quality specialist clinical pharmacy service, and there will be a strong emphasis on supporting you in developing leadership and mentoring skills to the next level.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Vocational Master's degree in pharmacy (or equivalent relevant qualification)
* Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Completion of first year of clinical diploma or NHSE/RPS Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway or equivalent, as evidenced by dated communication from HEI or signed-off NQPP documentation.
* To be willing to work towards a non-medical prescribing qualification.
Experience Essential
* Post-registration work experience as a pharmacist in hospital pharmacy, covering a range of specialties, or the ability to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge.
* Previous participation in multi-disciplinary team.
* Demonstrates commitment and enthusiasm for providing high quality pharmaceutical care.
* Experience of teaching/presenting to other healthcare professionals/patients.
* Commitment to own Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Possesses relevant clinical knowledge in hospital pharmacy.
* Knowledge of national initiatives and guidelines, e.g. NICE, NSF.
* Possesses knowledge of available resources to answer Medicines Information queries.
* Able to work with drug budget information.
* Demonstrates good knowledge of hospital clinical pharmacy and current issues.
