About the role
The School of Healthcare is looking for a Lecturer in response to the increasing demand for our pharmacist prescribing program. The pharmacist independent prescribing program at the University of Leicester is a largely distance learning program with six study days of which two are face to face and the remainder online. The successful candidate will primarily work within the prescribing course program team to support program delivery. This involves mainly online teaching and assessment; however, the national program requires occasional travel within England and Northern Ireland to deliver the face-to-face sessions which are shared amongst the program team.
The post provides an excellent opportunity for a practicing prescribing pharmacist to develop their education and training skills while joining a dynamic and expanding pharmacy team at the University of Leicester. The successful applicant would be expected to:
* Create and deliver course materials for blended learning
* Provide advisor support to trainee pharmacist prescribers and their allocated work-based tutors
* Contribute to and undertake assessment activities
* Participate within all school, college, and university governance and quality assurance processes to ensure that the program is constantly reviewed and revised to optimize student experience and school, college, and university reputation
* Develop personal teaching and assessment skills
* Maintain current clinical prescribing practice
The post holder will largely work autonomously and independently to lead their own tasks and goals.

Alongside an MPharm degree at 2:1 or above, you will also have a prescribing annotation on the professional register, evidence of current clinical practice, and plans to maintain it within the role.
