We are looking to offer a Head of Brand Marketing the opportunity to join our expanding Marketing Communications team based in Stevenage.
About the role
You’ll be joining the dots between Water, Energy, Telecoms, Highways and Rail & Aviation to create an inspiring, innovative and collaborative approach to raising brand awareness and building our profile so we can win new business, attract top talent and retain and develop our people.
You’ll lead an in-house marketing and design team, with the opportunity to renew and reimagine a marketing and brand management service that is designed by group and can be tailored by divisions. You’ll need a wide range of capabilities to help us evolve, building our reach internally and externally, and growing our skills so that as a marketing communications team we can continue to deliver at the pace of change.
We’re looking for someone who understands how to work smarter, not just harder, working together across our group to find the right team and technology to create the best outcome. It will take vision, resilience, flexibility and fairness to take on this opportunity and you’ll help M Group be greater than the sum of its parts.
We offer a flexible working environment where hybrid working has been embedded. You would be required to attend the office two to three days per week.

As the Head of Brand Marketing, you’ll get the opportunity to:
* Lead the advocacy and guardianship of our brand.
* Develop and implement a brand marketing strategy for our group - using a multi-channel approach including digital, print, media and social media, market research and direct marketing - and oversee its implementation through leadership of the wider marketing team to drive the business forward.
* Create an annual calendar of Group campaigns and events supporting and enabling business growth ambitions, adjusting the marketing plan in response to insights and performance metrics to be agile and cost-effective in using marketing activity to contribute towards the delivery of the overall business strategy.
* Set budgets for Group marketing activity and develop marketing strategies to promote the organisation's capabilities and services to increase its market share and support actions to win new business in adjacent markets.
* Lead the creation of integrated marketing campaigns that effectively communicate the brand's message and drive brand awareness and engagement, maximising the return on investment (ROI) of each initiative, for the continuous improvement of our Group’s marketing efforts.
* Analyse key marketing performance metrics, market trends, marketing techniques, forecasts, competitor analysis and client insights, carrying out research to understand how clients perceive the business's brand and use insights to identify opportunities and inform the creation of compelling brand strategies that differentiate our products and services in the infrastructure marketplace and adjacent markets.
* Provide strategic and tactical coordination with advertising, media and digital agencies, website, graphics, legal, market research, production, sales and finance.
* Oversee coordination with external marketing and brand agencies.
* Oversee the management and maintenance of the Group’s website and social media strategy, planning and delivery, driving towards a proactive and planned approach.

* Demonstrably innovative and results driven with a proven ability to analyse and review marketing metrics and trends to identify opportunities and threats, promoting a culture of high performance with a focus on successful outcomes.
* Resilient and the proven ability to receive feedback and act on it objectively to ensure the marketing function maintains a culture of continuous improvement.
* Experienced in taking accountability, demonstrating responsibility for your own work and that of the team.
* Proven project management success and extensive knowledge of all aspects of marketing.
* Proficient in marketing technology with demonstrable evidence of a broad range of brand marketing processes, systems, practices and tools, suitable for a large corporate organisation.
* Demonstrable understanding of content writing and creation, customer relationship management (CRM), social media marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), public relations, email marketing, pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and automation.
* A business qualification – BSc/BA/MSc/MA in business management, marketing, advertising, or a relevant field and/or qualifications from relevant professional bodies including but not limited to the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the Institute of Data and Marketing, or the Digital Marketing Institute or equivalent professional experience.
