An exciting opportunity has arisen within the IT department for a Test Analyst. This role will be based in Head Office and will be a blend of office and home working. You will work as part of the IT Project Management Office (PMO) supporting the Test Lead, and play a key role in ensuring our changes and projects meet the highest standards. In this role, you will work closely with developers, 3rd parties, business analysts, and stakeholders to test new features, identify defects, and help drive continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to test automation. As a Test Analyst, you will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, logging and tracking defects, and ensuring our applications perform seamlessly for users. Identify test objectives and define test conditions Contribute on the continuing improvement of the test strategy and plan. Develop detailed test cases, test scripts, and work closely with the other IT departments to test data. Map test cases to requirements (User Stories) for traceability Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing Execute manual and/or automated test scripts. Log and classify defects with clear descriptions and replication steps. Work closely with the IT Team and 3rd parties to troubleshoot and verify fixes. Re-test resolved defects and update status accordingly. Prepare and share test execution reports. Provide insights on test coverage and defect trends. Document test outcomes and contribute to lessons learned report. Suggest improvement to testing processes and methodologies. These responsibilities are for guidance and will be subject to review in light of changing circumstances. Other duties of a similar nature and appropriate to the position may be assigned from time to time. Essential Criteria: A degree in IT or a related field and 2 years' commercial testing experience OR 2 years' experience with Sopra Core Banking systems. Experience in functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing life cycle (STLC). Experience working in Agile and Scrum environment. Knowledge of SQL for database validation. Attention to detail: keen attention to nuances in the information shared, identifying patterns, anomalies, and trends. Problem-solving ability: Capability to analyse complex problems, break down into manageable parts and develop / propose clear solutions. Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g. business stakeholders, or different business areas). Desirable Criteria: ISTQB Foundation Level Certification or equivalent. Knowledge of financial systems and/or Sopra core banking system Experience testing APIS (e.g. using Postman or SOAP UI) Experience with test automation tools and scripting language.
